FRISCO, Texas - After eliminating a 3-0 deficit, the Frisco RoughRiders scored seven unanswered runs to defeat the San Antonio Missions in game one of the Texas League South Division Series at Riders Field Tuesday night, 7-3. Frisco rallied with three runs in the bottom of the fifth to tie Tuesday's game and scored four in the eighth to take game one.

Riders right fielder Aaron Zavala knocked his first postseason home run to lead off the bottom of the eighth and give Frisco (1-0) the lead. Left fielder Kellen Strahm finished 2-for-2 against San Antonio (0-1), walking twice and scoring two runs on a pair of doubles in the win.

Reliever Josh Smith (1-0) struck out one batter in a scoreless eighth inning to pick up the Frisco win, while Missions lefty Fred Schlichtolz (0-1) allowed three of the four runs in the bottom of the eighth.

Frisco starter Jack Leiter gave up three runs on two hits in 3.1 innings in game one with four strikeouts. San Antonio reached the scoreboard with a run-scoring single from catcher Webster Rivas in the first inning. Shortstop Connor Hollis extended the Missions lead in the top of the fourth with a two-run single to give San Antonio a 3-0 lead.

The RoughRiders began the climb back with back-to-back doubles from Luisangel Acuna and Strahm to get Frisco on the board, 3-1. After a Frainyer Chavez single, catcher Scott Kapers inched the Riders closer with the fourth consecutive hit to begin the inning and cut the deficit to 3-2.

With two outs, center fielder Evan Carter delivered a two-out drive to center to score Chavez and tie Tuesday's game, 3-3.

Following Zavala's lead off homer in the bottom of the eighth to give Frisco the lead, Strahm doubled in Acuna from second base and shortstop Jonathan Ornelas drove in two runs with two outs to push the Riders ahead for good, 7-3.

Frisco now travels to San Antonio to continue the Division Series with game two from Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. Riders LHP Cody Bradford (10-7, 5.01 ERA) makes his first start of the postseason, while San Antonio's starter is still to be determined.

One win would send Frisco to the Championship Series against the winner between Tulsa and Wichita and single-game tickets are on sale now. The potential first game would be played at Riders Field on Sunday, September 25th at 4:05 p.m. For tickets and more information about the Frisco RoughRiders, visit RidersBaseball.com or call 972.731.9200.
