Friendly Wager Adds Excitement to this Weekend's Home Opener

March 1, 2011 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Richmond Revolution News Release

RICHMOND, VA.: When the Richmond Revolution take the field this weekend for their home opener they will face one of the newest teams in the Indoor Football League, the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks. However, for both of these teams it will be more than just a win on the field that they will be playing for. Revolution General Manager Charlie Hildbold and Steelhawks Executive Vice President and General Manager Mike Clark added a little fuel to the fire today by announcing a friendly wager for the outcome of the game. If the Revolution win the contest this weekend, Hildbold will get the opportunity to pie Clark in the face at mid-field during the pre-game festivities at the Steelhawks Home Opener on March 19th. If the Steelhawks win, the same applies in reverse.

*"I have gotten to know Mike very well over the past couple of years, he's a great friend,"* said Hildbold. *"I have been looking forward to our home opener against the Steelhawks ever since the schedule was released. It is quite a an honor to be the team that plays them for their first ever home game. It will be an even bigger honor to celebrate our home win this weekend at midfield on the 19th."*

Both teams are coming off an opening week loss and look to right the ship against their divisional opponent. The Steelhawks fell 33-26 to the Reading Express while the Revolution were downed by the Bloomington Extreme 44-6.

Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m. at the Revolution's SportsQuest Complex and will mark the team's first outdoor-indoor football game.
