MOLINE, Ill. - Christian Frey made 52 saves and Alec Baer broke a 1-1 third period tie and added an assist to propel the Rapid City Rush (23-41-6) past the host Quad City Mallards (23-42-5) 4-1 Wednesday night.

Baer gave Rapid City its first lead when his shot from the slot caromed home off the Mallards' Willie Raskob at 5:57 of the third. The Rush clinched victory with pair of empty net goals in the final minute. Peter Sivak stretched the Rapid City advantage to 3-1 at 19:10. Brayden Sherbinin scored the fourth Rush goal just 26 seconds later.

The Rush battled back to claim the win after Matt Pohlkamp buried Chris Izmirlian's centering pass to give the Mallards a 1-0 lead 13 minutes into the first period. Rapid City's Aaron Boyd tied the score at one by scoring the first of four straight Rush goals from the slot at 8:57 of the second period.

Frey set the stage for the Rush to take over in the third period by turning aside 39 Mallard shots over the first 40 minutes.

Also Wednesday, defenseman Dmitry Osipov was loaned to the Mallards by the American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves.
