January 7, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Cape Cod Frenzy News Release
Joe "Jellybean" Bryant leads his players onto the floor Friday night when the Frenzy look to avenge their 120-111 against New Jersey. The Frenzy (3-7) added almost 30 years of professional experience to the floor when Head Coach Joe Bryant moved onto the floor as player/coach.
Bryant will lead a talented lineup including former UMass captain Shannon Crooks, NBA draft pick and Providence College alum Troy Brown, and the ABA's 5th leading scorer John Humphrey. With two-thirds of the season remaining, the Frenzy can start to right the ship with a win against (6-6) New Jersey. Led by former UConn star Edmund Saunders and streaky scorer Derrick Washington the Skycats will try to sweep their trip to New England after beating the Frenzy Wednesday night.
Tickets are still available to Catch The Frenzy and the Skycats Friday night at 7 p.m. on the campus of UMass Dartmouth. Pat Riley and Mike Conceicao will have the play by play on WBSM 1420 AM.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
