
Frederick Keys Drop Thursday Night Contest to West Virginia

Frederick, MD- The Frederick Keys (9-9) lost their sixth straight game to the West Virginia Black Bears (8-10) by a final score of 9-6 at Wagener Field at Monongalia County Ballpark on Thursday night.
The Keys led 4-0 heading into the fourth and 6-3 heading into the sixth but could not hang on in the end. A four-run sixth inning by the Black Bears proved to be the difference in the loss.
Jake Plastiak (Kentucky) led the Keys team with a game-high three RBI, including a three-run home run in the 4th. Hunter Jump (Kentucky) had a team-high two hits, including a two-run double down the right field line in the 5th.
Starting pitcher and right-hander Geo Rivera (Walters State CC) shined in his first Keys start, striking out four in 3.0 shutout innings.
Frederick will look to even up the series against West Virginia on Friday night. First pitch for tomorrow's game is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
