
Franklin And Nyenhuis Earn Weekly Honors For The Talons

May 26, 2010 -Talons' Defensive End Gabe Nyenhuis and Wide Receiver Carlese Franklin have earned week 8 AFL honors. Nyenhuis was named the Riddell defensive player of the week and Franklin was honored as the JLS Ironman of the week.
Nyenhuis spent the majority of the night last Saturday in Yard Dawgz QB Tommy Grady's face. Nyenhuis finished the night with four sacks (now leads the league with 7 on the season), five unassisted tackles (3 of them for a loss), three forced fumbles and one pass deflection.
Franklin had a great night on both sides of the ball. On offense he finished with 17 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns along with five receptions for 62 receiving yards and three scores. On defense, Franklin had one unassisted tackle and played well on special teams all night.
The Talons are on the road in Bossier-Shreveport this Saturday taking on the Battlewings. The Talons official watch party is at Fair Meadows Grill (21st and Yale-just North of Big Splash) at 7pm. The Talons return home Saturday June 5th as they take on perennial AFL powerhouse, the Orlando Predators. Call the Talons office at 294-1000 to get your tickets for the game on June 5th today.
The Talons will once again play all home games at one of the best arenas in the country, the BOK Center in downtown Tulsa. Since the opening in September of 2008, the BOK Center has garnered national and worldwide recognition most recently being ranked 5th in the U.S. and 14th in the world for ticket sales in the 3rd quarter of 2009.
