Aiken Foxhounds News Release
The Aiken Foxhounds (18-12) jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and held on for a 4-3 victory over the visiting Anderson Joes (6-24) Thursday night at Roberto Hernandez Stadium.
After Jesse Krause (3-2) pitched 7.2 scoreless innings, the Aiken defense committed four errors behind Krause and reliever Gary Lee as the Joes plated three unearned runs. Lee induced a fly ball with two outs and runners on the corners in the ninth to end the threat.
Scott Houin went 2-for-5 with a home run for the Foxohunds while Garth McKinney had three hits in four at-bats and scored twice.
Aiken and Anderson will play game one of their three-game series Friday night at Hernandez Stadium with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 PM.
