Fox Sports Net Rocky Mountain to televise nine Crush games in 2006
January 24, 2006 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Colorado Crush News Release
Fox Sports Net Rocky Mountain (FSN) will telecast nine Colorado Crush regular season games, beginning with the Las Vegas at Colorado game on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 1:00 p.m. MT. In addition to the network's game coverage, the Crush will also be featured on a new weekly half-hour series, CRUSH WEEKLY. The show airs Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. and replays on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. MT, starting Jan. 25.
In September 2005, FSN signed a new multiyear telecast and marketing rights agreement with the defending Arena Football League champion Colorado Crush. Comcast held local telecast rights to the Crush for the 2004 and 2005 AFL seasons.
FSN's broadcast team for the 2006 AFL season includes several familiar faces to sports fans in Colorado. Tim Neverett will handle the play-by-play duties while former Denver Broncos FB Howard Griffith provides game analysis in the booth and Dave Benz offers sideline coverage. Former NFL center and CU All-American Jay Leeuwenberg will be in studio to offer analysis for the network's pregame show, intermission reports and postgame coverage, and work alongside Tim Ring. Benz will also serve as host of CRUSH WEEKLY.
AFL WEEKLY, a nationally distributed show produced by FSN Rocky Mountain in Denver, returns to the network this season. AFL WEEKLY, the official weekly magazine show of the AFL, includes features and reports from FSN affiliates from around the country. This half-hour show, hosted by Laura Okmin, airs Mondays at 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. MT, starting Jan. 30.
