
Four Players Selected to Represent Force in All-Star Game

CLEVELAND, OHIO- Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Commissioner Steve Ryan today announced the roster for the MISL Eastern Conference All-Star Team. The MISL All-Star Game is scheduled to be played on Sunday, March 9th in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the Bradley Center.
The Eastern Conference squad will be comprised of 16 players representing the Baltimore Blast (2 selections), Cleveland Force (4 selections), Harrisburg Heat (5 selections) and the defending MISL Champion Philadelphia KiXX (5 selections).
Forward Hector Marinaro will make his 14th overall All-Star appearance. Marinaro, the all-time leading scorer in All-Star Game history with 46 points, will start along side Harrisburg Heat forward David Bascome and Philadelphia KiXX forward and 2002 All-Star Game Most Valuable Player (MVP) Joel Shanker. Hector is among the All-Star Game leaders as he has posted 18 assists and 13 two-point goals, which ranks him first and tied for second respectively. Marinaro is tied for second on the team and tied for 16th in the MISL in scoring this season with 46 points.
Forward Giuliano Oliviero will make his first All-Star Game appearance as a member of the Force, but it will be his third overall selection, one with the Toronto Thunderhawks and one with the Montreal Impact. Oliviero has notched one two-point goal and two assists for a total of four points in his previous two All-Star Games. Giuliano leads the team in scoring and is 13th in the MISL with 53 points.
Midfielder John Ball will make his third straight All-Star Game appearance representing Cleveland. Ball was named the 2000 All-Star Game MVP after he scored the game-winning three-point goal off the pass from current Head Coach Andy Schmetzer. John, who has recorded five points in his previous two All-Star Games, is fifth on the team in scoring with 36 points and third in blocks with 29.
Goalkeeper Jim Larkin will make his second trip to the All-Star Game, but it will be his first representing the Force. Larkin, who made his first trip representing the Wichita Wings, made nine saves in his only All-Star Game. Jim has started in every game this season, leads the MISL in minutes played with 1,382, and is second in saves with 347.
The MISL Western Conference All-Star Team comprised of the Dallas Sidekicks, Kansas City Comets, Milwaukee Wave and the San Diego Sockers will be announced on Wednesday.
