
Four Gotham FC Players Called to USWNT for SheBelieves Cup

HARRISON, NJ - NJ/NY Gotham FC today announced four players have been named to the U.S. Women's National Team (USWNT) roster for the 2024 SheBelieves Cup, which will take place on April 6 and 9 in Atlanta and Columbus, Ohio, respectively. The 23-player roster features Gotham FC players Tierna Davidson, Crystal Dunn, Jenna Nighswonger, and Emily Sonnett.
Davidson earned her first regular season start with the club on March 24, when Gotham FC defeated the Portland Thorns 1-0 at Providence Park. In the match, she played all 90 minutes and had a 75.6% passing accuracy. Additionally, Davidson was among the six players selected by her teammates to represent and lead Gotham FC on and off the field. At the Concacaf W Gold Cup, Davidson started and appeared in four matches, including the final, to lead the USWNT to the title.
Dunn also earned her first regular season start with Gotham FC in the win over her former team, Portland. She played 66 minutes, recorded an 86.7% passing accuracy, and won six duels in the match. Alongside Davidson, Dunn was selected to the team's Leadership Group in her first season with Gotham FC. Last time out with the USWNT, Dunn started in the W Gold Cup final and earned her 143rd cap.
Nighswonger is returning to the USWNT after an impressive campaign at the W Gold Cup. She scored two goals en route to the final and earned three starts in the tournament, recording her sixth cap overall for the USWNT. For Gotham FC, Nighswonger started and played all 90 minutes in the club's first regular season match. Against Portland, the 2023 NWSL Rookie of the Year recorded a 78.6% passing accuracy and won four duels.
In her first regular season match with Gotham FC, Sonnett started and played in the entirety of the match against Portland, in which she recorded a 74.5% passing accuracy and won four duels. With the USWNT at the W Gold Cup, she appeared in five matches and earned her 88th appearance in the semifinal against Canada.
The first match will feature the USA (#4) versus Japan (#7) at 12:30 p.m. ET at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta (TNT, Universo, Max & Peacock), while Brazil (#10) will take on Canada (#9) at 3:30 p.m. ET (Universo, Max & Peacock). The four national teams will then travel to Columbus, Ohio for the final two games of the tournament at Lower.com Field, where the Semifinal winners play in the Championship and the losers play in the Third-Place Match. The USA will play in the 7 p.m. ET time slot (TBS, Universo, Max & Peacock) whether it plays in the Championship or Third-Place Match, and the other game will be at 4 p.m. ET (TBS, Universo, Max & Peacock).
Gotham FC will next face the North Carolina Courage on Saturday, March 30 at 7 p.m. ET (NWSL+).
