
Four Flying Tigers Named To FSL All-Star Game

Lakeland, FL - The Florida State League (FSL) 2010 All-Star teams have been announced by League President Chuck Murphy. Left handed pitcher Charlie Furbush, right handed pitcher Brayan Villarreal, first baseman Rawley Bishop and outfielder Kody Kaiser will represent the Flying Tigers at the 49th annual FSL All-Star Game. The game will take place at Space Coast Stadium in Viera, home of the Brevard County Manatees, on Saturday, June 12 at 7:35 p.m.
Charlie Furbush currently leads the FSL in strikeouts (80), batting average against (.203) and WHIP (0.93). His 2.73 ERA is currently 10th in the league and is 3rd in innings pitched (56.0). Furbush has been dominant lately striking out at least 10 batters in three of his last four starts and has allowed only seven earned runs in his last 41 innings pitched (1.54 ERA). Furbush was selected by the Tigers in the 4th round of the June 2007 draft out of LSU. Brayan Villarreal is tied for the team lead with five wins and his 55 strikeouts are second on the team and sixth in the FSL. He has won three of his last four decisions. He has allowed only 42 hits in 50.1 innings pitched this season. Villarreal was signed by the Tigers as a non-drafted free agent in October of 2005 and this is his fourth professional season.
In only his second professional season, Rawley Bishop is currently second in the FSL with a .350 batting average, trailing only teammate Alden Carrithers (.361). He leads all FSL first baseman with a .997 fielding percentage, making only one error in 326 total chances. Bishop currently ranks second in the FSL in RBI (34), doubles (15) and runs scored (31), third in slugging percentage (.528) and total bases (86) and fourth in hits with 57. Bishop was selected by the Tigers in the 19th round of the June 2009 draft out of Middle Tennessee State University.
Kody Kaiser is currently 5th in the FSL with a .335 batting average and 56 hits. His five triples are second in the league. Kaiser has been one of the hottest hitters in the FSL during the month of May. In 23 games for the month he is hitting .396 with 36 hits, 22 RBI and 12 runs scored. Kaiser was selected by the Tigers in the 15th round of the June 2007 draft out of Oklahoma City University. This is his fourth professional season.
