Atlanta United FC News Release
ATLANTA - Luis Abram, Thiago Almada, Giorgos Giakoumakis and Miles Robinson have each received call-ups from their respective national teams for the Nov. 13-21 FIFA window.
Abram will join Peru for two World Cup qualifiers at Bolivia on Nov. 16 and at home versus Venezuela on Nov. 21. The defender has 39 caps for Peru at the international level, including 15 matches in World Cup qualification and eight Copa America appearances, making his senior national team debut in a friendly against Trinidad and Tobago on May 24, 2016.
Almada was called-up to Argentina's U-23 side by manager Javier Mascherano for a pair of matches against Japan on Nov. 18 and 21. The 22-year-old has four appearances with Argentina's senior national team, making his debut against Honduras in September of 2022, and three appearances with Argentina's U-23s. He became the first active MLS player to win the FIFA World Cup in Qatar where he made one appearance, entering as a substitute against Poland in the group stage.
Giakoumakis joins Greece for a friendly against New Zealand on Nov. 17 and its final UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying match at home against France on Nov. 21. The 28-year-old forward has represented Greece at both the U-21 and senior level. He's made 19 appearances with the senior team and scored three goals for his country. He scored on his international debut on Nov. 11, 2020 in a friendly against Cyprus.
Robinson was the only MLS player called-up to the USMNT this window for two Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal legs against Trinidad and Tobago on Nov. 16 and Nov. 20. If the USMNT advances it would secure a spot in the 2024 Copa America, which will be hosted in the United States. Robinson has 28 caps and three goals with the USMNT, earning his senior team debut on Sept. 6, 2019 coming on as a substitute in a friendly against Mexico. Robinson started all six matches and scored two goals at the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup where he helped the U.S. secure five clean sheets and scored the game-winning goal in the final as the U.S. beat Mexico 1-0. He started 11 of 14 World Cup Qualifiers this past cycle, helping the USMNT qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
