Forward Parker Goins Re-Signs with Racing
January 9, 2024 - National Women's Soccer League (NWSL)
Racing Louisville FC News Release
Forward Parker Goins agreed to a one-year deal with Racing Louisville that will keep the 25-year-old in lavender for the 2024 season, the club announced Tuesday.
The 21st pick in the 2021 NWSL Draft, Goins spent the past two seasons with Louisville, scoring three goals in 15 appearances across all competitions in 2023.
"We are looking so forward to having Parker back," said Racing head coach Bev Yanez. "She took advantage of her opportunities last season and put in the work needed to influence the game. She has the fluidity to play multiple positions upfront, which is something we value."
"We are thrilled for Parker to return to Racing this season," said Racing general manager Ryan Dell. "She played a crucial role on the pitch and in the locker room last season, and we look forward to her continuing to develop and grow."
"I'm so excited about this opportunity to come back and play for Racing another year," Goins said. "Each year we're continuing to grow in the right direction, and I know this year won't be any different. It's a special group, and I'm so happy to be a part of it."
Goins returns to a Racing squad that has retained 79.8 percent of its minutes played from the 2023 campaign, the club's most successful in its first three years. She'll join returning forwards Kirsten Davis and Uchenna Kanu and attacking midfielders Ary Borges, Savannah DeMelo, Kayla Fischer and Maddie Pokorny.
The Oklahoma native scored her first professional goal in Racing's first regular-season win of the 2023 campaign, a 3-0 victory over the Chicago Red Stars. Goins scored twice in the UKG NWSL Challenge Cup group stage, helping Racing reach its first NWSL knockout stage and final since joining the league ahead of the 2021 season.
Goins remains one of the most accomplished players in University of Arkansas history, ranking third all-time in goals scored and first in assists. She was an All-American in 2021.
