Chase Adams had 29 points for the Impact, who had led by as much as 18 points. Cole Ragland also contributed with 14 points.
Fresh forward A.D. Duncan's 40 points was the most scored by a North Texas Fresh player and his 16 rebounds gave him his 1st double - double of the season. Gibson, off the bench, contributed with 24 points and 10 rebounds; giving him his 1st double - double on the year as well.
"I've been telling him [Duncan] for 2 years straight to be aggressive and read the defense," stated Owner/Head Coach Jay Bowdy. "Just looking at film from the first game we've played last season to now and you can see how he's progressed; and that's being an all - around threat with the ball in or out of his hands."
Fresh guard Montrell Williams, created havoc once again, recording a career and franchise record 8 steals in the ball game. Williams leads the team with 13 steals in just two games played.
Impact grabbed its lead of the game early in the 1st quarter and didn't give up the lead until late in the 4th. A Roy Giles floater with 1:38 left gave the Fresh its 1st lead since the early 1st quarter.
Tanner Johnson kept the Fresh in the game early as he went 4 for 5 in the 1st half from behind the arc.
"I expect a lot from all our players," stated Owner/Head Coach Jay Bowdy. "It is going to take all of us together to win ball games and all of us supporting one another and riding the hot hand."
Plath, who hit 6 three's in the first game, had the defense on his hip majority of the game. It wasn't until Bowdy seen the momentum swing back towards the Fresh when he decided to put him back in the game. He finished with 11 points, with 9 from behind the arc.
"I seen the defense starting to relax a little for the Impact," Bowdy said. "They were targeting him from the beginning and I knew eventually the target would switch to someone else; leaving him in the position to knock down some key shots for us."
Fresh is 2-0 this season, while Impact are 1-1. The Fresh will face the Impact 4 more times this season.
