Fort Worth - "A new era in the life of the Fort Worth Cats begins with spring training on May 12, at LaGrave Field," announced Chris Hart, Fort Worth Cats General Manager. "Fans are welcome to come to the ballpark and watch the 2012 Cats workout during this year's spring training."
The Fort Worth Cats play two exhibition games against the DFW All-Star team on Thursday, May 17, and Friday, May 18. Season ticket holders are invited to attend the exhibition games at no charge; all other fans can purchase $3 tickets at the box office window; parking is $5. Dodger, the Cats' mascot, will be attending the exhibition games and entertaining fans as they sit back, enjoy the concessions, and watch some up close, hometown baseball. Manager and former Texas Ranger Curtis Wilkerson has recruited former Texas Ranger Jeff Russell to help coach the new Fort Worth Cats team during the exhibition games. Also returning to coach is former Major League player, manager, and coach Wayne "Twig" Terwilliger. Twig managed the Cats from 2002-2005 and brings with him 60 plus years of professional baseball experience.
The Fort Worth Cats open their 124th season on Wednesday May 23, at 7:05 p.m. at LaGrave Field. Exhibition game times and all ticket information are available at 817- 332-CATS (2287). www.fwcats.com.
