SETTING THE STAGE: Tonight's game is the fourth in a six game season series between the Brahmas and the Blazers...Oklahoma City has won two of the previous three games played between the two clubs, including a narrow 3-2 win over Fort Worth in Fort Worth in their last meeting on Saturday, January 17, 2004...This will be the first of three games this season between the Brahmas and the Blazers in Oklahoma City...Tonight's game will be the only game of the weekend for the Brahmas.
FORT WORTH NOTES: Fort Worth should be rested and ready for this one, as the Brahmas have not played a game since Sunday, January 25 when they defeated the Austin Ice Bats by a 4-1 score in Austin...The Brahmas are hopeful that goaltender Brent Belecki can give a repeat performance tonight of his effort in Austin; against the Ice Bats Belecki stopped 43 of the 44 Austin shots sent his way to earn his first win in a Fort Worth uniform...Left wing Chad Woollard, the Brahmas leading scorer with 32 points on the season (14G/18A) will not play tonight for Fort Worth as he remains on call up with the St. John's Maple Leafs of the AHL...Center Aaron Davis scored a goal against Austin last Sunday for Fort Worth, tying him with Woollard for the team lead in goals...Center Jason Reesor will skate for the Brahmas tonight after missing the Austin game because of an immigration issue.
OKLAHOMA CITY NOTES: The Blazers are coming off of a 2-1 loss last night on home ice to the Colorado Eagles...Tough guy Charlie Elezi scored the only Oklahoma City goal in the loss...Oklahoma City has lost two games in a row and is just 4-5-1 in their last ten...The cold spell has dropped the Blazers to third place in the Northwest Division...Speedy centerman Marty Standish leads the Blazers in points this season with 39 (17G/22A)...Standish is especially dangerous on the powerplay, with 7 man advantage goals this year...Center Blair Manning is the top playmaker for Oklahoma City, as he has a team high 28 assists on the season...Oklahoma City boasts two quality goaltenders in Boyd Ballard (2.85 GAA, .915 svpct) and Sean Connors (2.76 GAA, .913 svpct)...Veteran pivot Jonathan Dubois has 2 goals in his first 6 games back with the Blazers this year.
NEXT UP FOR THE BRAHMAS: The Brahmas will continue their seven game stretch away from home next week with a trio of road games...Next Tuesday, February 3, Fort Worth will visit the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs...Then the Brahmas will go up to Indy for a pair of weekend games...On Feb. 6 and Feb. 7, respectively, Fort Worth will take on the Indianaopolis Ice at 6:00 CST at the Pepsi Coliseum...None of the Brahmas road games next week will be broadcast on KTFW 1460 AM.
