
Fort Wayne's Beauregard and St. Pierre earn weekly honors

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO---The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Tuesday that Fort Wayne Komets left wing David-Alexandre Beauregard has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week and goaltender Kevin St. Pierre has been named UHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, January 25, 2004.
Beauregard completed the 14th week of the season registering 8-points (2g, 6a) and a plus-seven rating in three games. He opened the week scoring a goal and dishing out an assist in Fort Wayne's 2-0 shutout of the Port Huron Beacons on Wednesday. Beauregard tallied additional multi-point performances in back-to-back games against the Adirondack IceHawks. The 27-year-old Montreal, Quebec native notched two points (1g, 1a) in Friday's 7-0 rout of the IceHawks and four assists in Saturday's 5-1 victory. He is currently riding a four-game point-scoring streak (2g, 7a), four-game assist streak (7a) and league season-high 11-game road point-scoring streak (11g, 10a).
Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week include: Adirondack left wing Hugo Belanger, Elmira center Eddy Lowe, Flint right wing Bobby Reynolds, Kalamazoo forward Marty Flichel, Missouri right wing Jeff Petruic, Muskegon right wing Robin Bouchard, Port Huron defenseman David Bell, Quad City center Jeff Williams, Richmond center Richard Pitirri and Rockford forward Donnie Margettie.
St. Pierre completed the 14th week of the season posting a 3-0-0 record, a 0.33 goals against average (GAA) and a .986 save percentage (SPCT). He successfully turned away 73 of 74 shots on goal, including back-to-back shutouts to highlight the week. St. Pierre set a new record for longest consecutive shutout minutes by a Komets goaltender in a UHL season (189:0). The 28-year-old Sherbrooke, Quebec native currently leads the league with a 2.04 GAA and a .923 SPCT. He was named November 2003 UHL Goaltender of the Month and earned UHL Goaltender of the Week honors for Week Five (November 17 - 23, 2003) and Week 12 (January 5 - 11, 2004).
