FORT MYERS, Fla. - Heavy rain led umpires to suspend a 3-3 game between the Fort Myers Miracle and the Palm Beach Cardinals in the seventh inning on Thursday night at Hammond Stadium. The game was officially suspended after a 30-minute delay.

Trailing 2-0 in the second, Joe Cronin belted his fourth home run of the season to get the Miracle on the board. Fort Myers tied the game, 2-2, in the fifth on a Luis Arraez sacrifice fly.

Palm Beach reclaimed the lead in the sixth on an Andy Young home run. But, the Miracle tied the game in the bottom of the inning when Shane Carrier drove one over the wall in left-center. The blast was Carrier's second in a Miracle uniform.

Griffin Jax started for the Miracle in his home debut. The right-hander tossed 6.2 innings and struck out six. He allowed three runs on seven hits.

The suspended game will continue on June 11. The game will resume in the bottom of the seventh inning with the Miracle at the plate. Fort Myers has a runner at second and one out. The teams will play a regularly scheduled nine inning game following the conclusion of the suspended game.

The Miracle open a three-game series Friday night in Fort Myers with the Dunedin Blue Jays, the Class-A Advanced affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. Charlie Barnes (1-4, 4.00) will start for the Miracle. First pitch is slated for 7:00 p.m.
