Former Steamwheelers Lineman Dotsy to Dallas

DAVENPORT, Iowa â Former Quad City Steamwheelers head coach Rich Ingold is already in Dallas, Texas. Former Steamwheelers offensive lineman/defensive lineman Terrance Dotsy is not far behind.
Ingold, who joined the Arena Football League's Dallas Desperados as the offensive coordinator last month, brought Dotsy to the Steamwheelers for the last half of the 2004 season. Dotsy quickly adapted to the game and was an immediate impact on the Steamwheelers run to a fourth National Conference Midwest Division title.
Dotsy's solid play earned him a tryout with the Desperados not long after Ingold joined the team. After an impressive tryout, Dotsy was offered a contract, which became official on Monday, as announced by the Desperados.
Dotsy joins fellow 2004 offensive lineman/defensive lineman Jerry Montgomery, who signed with the Las Vegas Gladiators last week, as the first two former 2004 Steamwheelers to sign with an AFL team.
Dotsy's first game with the Steamwheelers came on June 18, when the Steamwheelers traveled to Green Bay, Wis., to take on the Blizzard. Dotsy then finished out the season with the âWheelers recording 5.5 tackles (four solo), two tackles for a loss, two sacks, a pass breakup, four quarterback hurries and forced a fumble. Dotsy was even a force on the offensive side of the ball as he hauled in a 10-yard pass and rushed for a two-point conversion.
In the post-season, against Louisville, Dotsy had a 2-yard touchdown run on the offensive side of the ball and 2.5 tackles (two solo) and two quarterback hurries on defense.
Prior to joining the Steamwheelers, he attended California-Berkley, the same college as Steamwheelers offensive lineman/defensive lineman Jamaal Cherry.
He played the 2001 season for the Pac-10 team as a tight end, where he caught three passes for 26 yards. He then moved to defensive end. In his final season of play, he tore his medial collateral ligament early in the season. Prior to Cal, he attended Ventura (Calif.) Junior College and was third on the team in receiving and was named Freshman of the Year in and earned honorable mention Western State Conference honors.
The Steamwheelers are gearing up for their sixth season, as a charter member of the af2. The 2005 af2 season is set to kickoff the first weekend of April and a schedule is expected in mid-November.
