Port Huron Icehawks News Release

PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Icehawks are proud to announce that former Red Wings great Joe Kocur will attend their February 23 game against the Muskegon Lumberjacks at 7 p.m. as part of their Red Wings Legend Night series. Kocur will drop the ceremonial first puck before being available for autographs.

The autograph session takes place in the Pro Shop during the first period. Autographs are free with the purchase of any Icehawks merchandise, or $5 otherwise. All proceeds go to Kinney Charities.

Kocur was a fan-favorite in Detroit as one half of the "Bruise Brothers" with teammate Bob Probert. He played over 600 games with the Red Wings, including nearly 70 playoff games. Kocur also played for the New York Rangers and the Vancouver Canucks, winning his first Stanley Cup with the Rangers in 1994. The right winger returned to the Wings for two more championships in 1997 and 1998. He also won a Stanley Cup with the team while working as video coach in 2002.

"We are very proud to bring another Red Wing legend to Port Huron to meet our fans," said Icehawks Vice President and Business Manager Dave Goetze. "It is great that our relationship with the Red Wings Alumni Association has allowed us to bring so many players from different eras to town, and we know that our fans have many great memories of Joe Kocur from the 1980's and 1990's."

This marks the third Red Wings Legend Night for the Icehawks. This season fans have already enjoyed the opportunity to meet Ted Lindsay and Alex Delvechhio. The remaining schedule of appearances is as follows:

Saturday, March 6: Karen Newman Tuesday, April 6: Mickey Redmond

Single game tickets for all Icehawks home games are on sale now at the McMorran Arena Box Office, any Ticket Master location or by phone. For more information, visit www.porthuronicehawks.com or call 810-966-3800.
