The af2 League Office has officially assigned, 6-1, 238 lb, FB/LB, Oklahoma State Alum, Greg Richmond to the Tulsa Talons for the 2008 season. Richmond, a former NFL Philadelphia Eagle, is returning to Oklahoma, after spending the last two years with the Eagles. Richmond re-signed with them in January of 07, after finishing the 06 season on the teams practice squad.

Prior to his professional football career, Richmond played college ball for Oklahoma State University. He spent five years, (1999-2003), with the Cowboys, where he played in 44 games, recording 184 total tackles, 34 tackles for loss and 21.5 sacks. He was named honorable mention All-Big 12 in 2002, and All-Big 12 First Team as a senior.

"We are extremely excited about signing Greg for the 2008 season. Bringing in a player of his caliber is really going to be a boost for our defense this season. He plays with the intensity and speed that we are looking for from all our guys on defense. I look for big things from him this season," said Head Coach Mitch Allner.

Richmond was heavily recruited as a High School Senior. He was a four-year starter at Douglas High School in Oklahoma City, as a linebacker and quarterback. He earned All-State honors by the Daily Oklahoman, Tulsa World, and Oklahoma Coaches' Association; First Down Recruiting also ranked him the 10th-best prospect in the state.
