Mahoning Valley Thunder Kicks off Tryouts Saturday

BOARDMAN, Ohio- The Mahoning Valley Thunder will be holding an open 2008 season tryout this Saturday, January 5th at the Salem Community Center (1098 North Ellsworth Avenue. Salem, OH 44460). All Quarterbacks, Running Backs, Wide Receivers, Defensive Backs, Linebackers and Offensive/Defensive Lineman are invited to tryout. Kicker tryouts will be held at a date to be determined. Registration begins at 8:00 am. The tryout, under the direction of Thunder Head Coach Mike Hold will start promptly at 9:00 am.

A non-refundable registration fee of $55.00 is due on the morning of the tryout, walkups are welcome. The Thunder will only accept payments in the form of cash. All tryout players are required to bring athletic shoes suitable for field turf (NO CLEATED SHOES) and wear proper athletic clothing for indoors. Participants will be tested in the 40 yard dash, 20 yard short shuttle and a series of non-contact position drills. Saturday's tryout is open to the public and all media outlets. Thunder merchandise and season ticket packages will be made available through Thunder representatives on hand.

The Mahoning Valley Thunder opens the season at home Saturday March 29th on Cortland Banks Field inside the Chevrolet Centre. Be a part of all the action in 2008 as the Thunder continues their climb towards the ArenaCup9 Championship. Season ticket prices start as low $96 dollars and are on sale now.
