
Former Memphis QB Arkelon Hall Signs with Stars

(Rio Rancho, NM) The New Mexico Stars announced today that they have signed former Memphis Tiger Arkelon Hall to a contract to play quarterback for the New Mexico IFL Franchise.
"Arkelon will immediately become an emotional leader and bring great experience to our football team," said Stars Head Coach Chris Williams. "He played for me last year while I was with the West Texas Roughnecks and I believe he has the skill set to be among the top quarterbacks in the IFL."
The Stars also announced today that they will be holding their second open tryout at the Rio Rancho Rams Field on Saturday, December 3rd at 9 a.m. with check in starting at 8 a.m. Potential players are asked to pre-register at www.nmstars.com for a $50 cash fee and walk ups can register the day of for a $60 cash fee.
Hall ended his career at the University of Memphis ranked 10th all-time in passing yards (2,607) and 8th in pass completions (235). In 12 total games played during the 2011 season, Hall threw for 2,051 yards with 38 touchdown passes to only nine interceptions and added five rushing touchdowns. Hall completed 55% of his passes this past season and capped his 2011 campaign by throwing for a season-best 314 yards and seven touchdowns in a first-round playoff game versus the Tri-Cities Fever. In his last four games played during the 2011 regular season, Hall threw for a combined 823 yards with 16 total touchdowns (14 touchdown passes) and one interception. Hall earned VidSwap.com IFL Offensive Player of the Week honors after completing 19 of 27 passes for 281 yards, and posting six total touchdowns in a 66-23 win over the Amarillo Venom on April 23.
