La Crosse Loggers News Release
LA CROSSE, WI - Former La Crosse Loggers pitcher Scott Alexander became the tenth former Logger to get the call up to the big leagues when the Kansas City Royals called the left-hander up as part of their September call-ups today to expand their roster for the impending MLB post-season.
Alexander, a Pepperdine alum, has been a dominant force for the Omaha Royals (AAA Affliliate) all summer long out of their bullpen. The southpaw had appeared in 41 games, posting a 2-3 record with a 2.56 ERA and 14 saves prior to his call up. He had fanned 50 batters, while only walking 17 in 63.1 innings.
Alexander becomes the second member from the 2008 Loggers team to make it to the big leagues, joining fellow southpaw Chris Sale (White Sox) as the other pitcher to achieve that feat.
