BOSSIER CITY, LA (December 18, 2007)-Jason Schule who led af2 in rushing yards (351 on 89 carries) last season has signed a contract to play for the Tampa Bay Storm of the AFL. Schule, who played college ball at UL-Monroe, also led the BattleWings in average yards per carry (3.9), rushing touchdowns (20) and average rushing yards per game (21.9).

"What stands out about Jason, other than his outstanding ball skills, is the focus and intensity he brings to the football field," said BattleWings' Head Coach Jon Norris.

In addition to being a force out of the backfield, Schule caught four touchdown passes and was second on the team in scoring with 144 points. Known as "Schule The Mule" for his running and "The Bayou Butcher" for his blocking ability, Schule becomes the second BattleWings player from the 2007 roster to ink a deal in the AFL. Defensive End Elex Reed signed with the Cleveland Gladiators earlier in the off season.

The 6'0, 242 lb fullback began the season with a game-breaking 45-yard rushing touchdown to seal the victory in the 2007 season-opener against Ft. Wayne and never looked back.

"He's a great guy off the field-the way he lives his life," added Norris. "He's a proven tough guy and a leader."
