BOARDMAN, Ohio- The Mahoning Valley Thunder is pleased to announce that the arenafootball2 League Offices have assigned Joe Micco to the team for the 2008 season. QB Micco (6-1, 215) spent the 2007 season with the af2's Fort Wayne Fusion.
A Long Island, New York native, Micco played in 6 games for the Fusion completing 35 of 67 passes for 355 yards with 7 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Prior to his professional career, Micco was a member of the San Jose State University football team.
"Bringing in a guy like Joe helps our entire offense. He's a smart, heady player, who's been around the game," Thunder Head Coach Mike Hold said. "He has good size for the position and should be a nice fit with our offense."
The Mahoning Valley Thunder opens the season at home Saturday March 29th on Cortland Banks Field inside the Chevrolet Centre.
