Hamilton, ON - - Forge FC picks up win number of three in the 2023 Canadian Premier League campaign with a 3-2 win over Valour FC. The back and forth affair had fans sitting on the edge of their seats for the full 90 minutes.
Forge FC sits in first place in the CPL with 11 points and lead the league in goals for with eight on the season.
KEY POINTS:
Triston Henry - Registered four saves in the contest en-route to his 64th win in all competitions with the club.
Kyle Bekker - Scored his first goal in the CPL this season and tallied an assist on the match winning goal by Kwasi Poku. Was given the Gatorade Performance of the Match
Kwasi Poku - After being subbed on in the 65th minute for Terran Campbell, Poku scored the decisive third goal for Forge with a header from the back post after a brilliant cross from Kyle Bekker. Poku's first goal of the season.
Jordan Hamilton - After missing a short amount of time due to injury Hamilton got his step back with a goal and assist in the match. Jordan opened up the scoring for Forge tying the match at 1-1 and then assisted Bekker's goal to give the team a 2-1 lead.
Aboubacar Sissoko - Assisted Forge FC's opening goal from Jordan Hamilton.
Forge FC remain undefeated in all competitions in 2023 with a record of 5 wins, 0 losses, and two draws.
