Foreurs down Juniors 4 to 1

The Juniors faced off against division rival, the Val-d'Or Foreurs this afternoon. The Val-d'Or Foreurs were victorious by the score of 4 to 1. Simon Lacroix, Samuel Morneau, Olivier Dallaire, and Marco Scandella all tallied for the Foreurs. Louis-Marc Aubry scored the only Junior goal.

Although there was no scoring in the first period, the Foreurs erupted for three unanswered goals in the second within a span of six minutes. Simon Lacroix got on the board for the Foreurs with his eighth of the year at 11:32. Val-d'Or winger Samuel Morneau scored his fourteenth of the year at 14:41. Defenseman Olivier Dallaire extended the Foreurs lead to three goals when he tallied at 16:59.

Team Canada Junior invitee Marco Scandella added another one for the Foreurs at 2:28 of the third. The Juniors got one back as forward Louis-Marc Aubry scored his seventh of the season on the power play at 15:06.

Montreal goalie Jake Allen made 12 saves in the loss. Val-d'Or goaltender Raffaele D'Orso stopped 20 shots in the win. Montreal now has a record of 15-15-0-2 while the Foreurs record is at 11-18-2-0.

The Juniors will host the Chicoutimi Sagueneens in the Auditorium on Wednesday, December 9th at 7:35PM. The Baie-Comeau Drakkar will be in town on Friday, December 11th at 7:35PM. The Juniors will travel west to Gatineau to face the Olympiques on Sunday, December 13th.
