Sioux Falls, SDâStampede forward, Matt Ford was named Lets Play Hockey/USHL Player-of-the-Week late Monday afternoon. Ford recorded back-to-back hat-tricks (three goals each) last Wednesday night versus River City and again Friday versus Danville. In three games played last week, Ford tallied six goals and five assists for 11 points and earned a plus/minus rating of Plus-7.
A native of West Hills, CA, Ford is in his first year with the Stampede and is currently second on the team in scoring with 36 points (17g, 19a). To compliment his impressive point total, Ford has registered a plus/minus rating of Plus-8. In his last ten games, Ford has averaged two points a game for a total of 20 points (11g, 9a) and a plus/minus rating of Plus-8.
Ford and the Stampede return to action tomorrow night in Cedar Rapids to take on the East Division leading RoughRiders. Game time is 7:05 PM and can be heard live on 1320-AM KELO.
