February 23, 2016 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
New Jersey Titans News Release
The New Jersey Titans, proud members of the NAHL, are pleased to announce that defenseman Dakota Ford has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Clarkson University in the ECAC.
Ford, 20, is in his final season of playing junior hockey, but playing in his first season in the NAHL with the Titans. The native of Potsdam, New York, has played in 33 regular season games to date for the 1st place Titans and has nine points.
His first career goal came in a 3-2 win over Bismarck at the NAHL Showcase back on September 23rd, which also turned out to be the game-winner.
The 6'2/185 lbs. stay-at-home defenseman is the fourth player from this year's Titan squad to make an NCAA Division I commitment.
"Dakota came to us with a wealth of junior hockey experience and has now been rewarded with a scholarship from his dream school. He has played a lot of hockey in the recent years and it has translated to being one of our anchors on the blueline. He consistently plays against opposing teams top lines and has chipped in offensively throughout the season when the team needed that extra push. He has grown as a person and leader in our locker room and is well deserving of this commitment," head coach Rich McKenna said.
