
Force's Derek Lee signs with Atlanta Falcons

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA, September 8, 2005 - The Georgia Force announced that wide receiver/linebacker Derek Lee, who was named to the AFL's All-Rookie team last season, was placed on the team's Other League Exempt List after being signed to the Atlanta Falcons practice squad today.
Earlier this summer, LEE (6-5, 215, Tennessee Tech) attended training camp with the Chicago Bears.
During the 2005 season with the Force, Lee finished the regular season with a team-high 113 receptions for 1,234 yards and a team-high 33 touchdowns. His 113 catches established a new AFL rookie single-season mark (105 by Mike Baker- St. Louis, 1996 & 105 by Troy Bergeron- Georgia, 2005).
Lee combined with rookie teammate Troy Bergeron to lead the League with the most receiving touchdowns by any combo in the AFL combining for 64 receiving scores en route to helping the Force to their first Southern Division title and National Conference championship.
The Georgia Force concluded the 2005 season an AFL best-tying 13-6 record, which included a perfect 10-0 home record at Philips Arena, and an appearance in ArenaBowl XIX.
