
Force topple Sidekicks, 7-6

CLEVELAND, OHIO - The Cleveland Force played host and defeated the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Western Division Dallas Sidekicks by a final score of 7-6 at the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University.
With the victory, the Force improved to 8-16 overall, 5-4, versus Western Division opponents, 2-1 in the season series and 5-8 at the Convo. With the loss, Dallas fell to 14-12 overall and 5-versus Eastern Division opponents and 3-9 on the road.
Cleveland opened the scoring (1-0) when Adauto Neto scored the restart goal off the pass from Omid Namazi at 2:30 of the first quarter. The Force added to its lead (2-0) when John Ball found the back of the net off the assist from Braeden Cloutier at 3:16. The Sidekicks cut into the lead (2-1) when Martin Nash scored the power play goal off the cross from Martin Dugas at 4:52. Dallas tied the game (2-2) when Mark Rowland found the back of the net off the pass from Fabino at 6:49. Cleveland regained the lead (3-2) when Namazi scored the restart goal off the pass from Zoran Karic at 7:49. The Force added to their lead (4-2) when Myles Stoddard scored the restart goal off the pass from Karic at 13:03.
The Sidekicks cut into the lead (4-3) when Nash scored the unassisted restart goal at 1:22 of the second quarter. Dallas tied the game for the second time (4-4) when Rowland scored his second goal of the game off the assist from Ricardinho at 2:55. The Sidekicks took their first lead of the game (4-5) when Kiley Couch found the back of the net off the rebound shot of Ricardinho at 6:05. Cleveland tied the game for the third time (5-5) when Neto scored the unassisted goal at 9:16. The Force regained the lead (6-5) when Karic went near post and found the back of the net off the cross from Cloutier at 13:22.
Dallas tied the game for the fourth time (6-6) when Dugas was credited with the goal that went off Cleveland midfielder Justin Evans into the back of the net at 2:08 of the third quarter.
The Force regained the lead (7-6) when Neto recorded the hat trick on his third goal off the third assist of the game for Cloutier at 6:45 of the fourth quarter.
Cleveland will next travel to Baltimore, Maryland for the first game of a back-to-back weekend series with the defending MISL Champion and Eastern Division Baltimore Blast on Saturday, February 21 at the 1st Mariner Arena.
