Force to steam past Central Division opponent

CLEVELAND, OHIO – The Cleveland Force will play host to the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Central Division St. Louis Steamers on Sunday, March 28 at the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University. The game will mark the final meeting of the season between the teams. The Steamers lead the season series 2-1 but the Force won the last meeting on March 6 at the Family Arena by a final score of 6-2.

Cleveland comes into their final home match up with a record 14-19 overall, 5-6 versus Central Division opponents and 9-8 at home. The Force defeated the Kansas City Comets in at thrilling 8-7 overtime victory on Sunday afternoon. The Force currently is in third place in the Eastern Division 5.5 games behind the Philadelphia KiXX for second place and 9.0 games behind the Baltimore Blast for first.

St. Louis enters the weekend with a record of 13-18 overall, 4-7 versus Eastern Division opponents and 5-9 on the road. The Steamers will play host to the Milwaukee Wave in their final home game on Saturday afternoon before heading to Cleveland on Sunday. St. Louis is currently third by half a game in the Central Division with the Kansas City Comets trailing the Central Division Champion Milwaukee Wave by 9.0 games.

Forward/defender Hector Marinaro and midfielder Justin Evans lead Cleveland with three points in the season series. Marinaro has tallied two goals and an assist while Evans has recorded one goal and two assists in the three games. Joel Bailey, Braeden Cloutier, Lee Edgerton, Jim Larkin, Adauto Neto, Myles Stoddard and Antonio Sutton all are second in the season series with two points.

Forward Sterling Wescott leads the Steamers with three points in the three games. Wescott has notched three goals. Former Force forward Steve Butcher is second on the team with two points on two goals in the three games.
