
Force takes new direction in community soccer

CLEVELAND, OHIO - After three years of a combined effort between the Cleveland Force and the Cleveland Soccer Academy, both parties have mutually agreed that the Force is stepping away from their involvement in the youth select program that has been known as the Cleveland Force Juniors. This change is effective January 1, 2005.
"We are re-evaluating all of our grass roots programs. We still have every intention of running our summer camps, operating clinics, going on school appearances and intergrating our players in the Northeast Ohio community," stated Force Vice President and Assistant General Manager Eric Dietrich.
"With the changes in the youth soccer landscape and with all that we are currently doing, we felt now was the right time to step back and give ourselves new direction," added Dietrich.
The select program has enjoyed a successful start under the direction of Ali Kazemaini and Kia Zolgharnain. Identifying numerous local players for Regional Olympic Development Program pools and college placements.
The youth select program will continue under Cleveland Soccer Academy, the tryout dates for the teams will be held on Sunday, December 19 at Force Fitness Institute in Warrensville Heights Times for the tryout will be announced at a later date.
"We wish nothing but the best for Ali and Kia. They have been tremendous partners and we look forward to working on future projects with them," commented Dietrich
"As a product of the Cleveland Soccer community, we wish the Force much success in their quest of brining another Indoor Soccer Championship along with and Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise to Cleveland. The presence of professional soccer in our community is a big asset in developing youth soccer and we will continue to support the franchise in any way possible, stated former Force All-Star and President of the Cleveland Soccer Academy Ali Kazemaini.
