
Force Socks Past San Diego For Victory

CLEVELAND, OHIO. - The Cleveland Force played host to the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Western Division San Diego Sockers and defeated the Sockers by a final score of 5-2 at the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University.
With the win, the Force snapped its four game losing streak and improved to 4-5 overall and 3-1 versus MISL Western Division opponents. With the loss, San Diego fell to 3-6 overall and 1-4 versus MISL Eastern Division opponents.
The Sockers opened the scoring (0-1) when Mark Ughy scored the goal off the pass from Paul Wright at 11:18 of the first quarter. Cleveland tied the game (1-1) when Nick Corneli scored his first goal of the season off the assist from John Ball at 13:24.
The Force took their first lead of the game (2-1) when Lee Edgerton scored the power play goal off the assist from Zoran Karic at 8:13 of the second quarter. Cleveland added to its lead (3-1) when Adauto Neto scored the shoot out and power play goal at 9:19.
The Force opened the second half scoring (4-1) when Justin Evans scored the restart goal off the second assist of the game for Karic at 6:34 of the third quarter. Cleveland added to its lead (5-1) when Neto scored his second goal of the game of the assist from goalkeeper Jim Larkin at 14:51.
San Diego snapped a 5-0 run by the Force (5-2) when Mariano Bollella scored a power play goal off the pass from Sean Bowers at 11:20 of the fourth quarter.
Cleveland will next travel to Dallas, Texas to take on the MISL Western Division Dallas Sidekicks in a MISL game on Friday, December 12 at 8:05 p.m. The game be heard live on WHK 1220 AM in Cleveland as well as 1440 AM WHKW in Warren or worldwide on the Internet at www.thesportsking.com.
