
Force Signs Local Standouts To Contracts

CLEVELAND, OHIO - Cleveland Force President and General Manager Paul Garofolo today announced the team has signed two local standouts to contracts. Adam Campellone of Parma and Adam Guren of Kirtland Hills each signed a one-year plus an option year contract. Per club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.
"It is always exciting when local talent is available to a pro team. We believe these two young men will have a great future in this game," stated Garofolo.
Campellone, a 22-year old midfielder, will make his Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) and Force debut this season. Prior to reporting to training camp, Adam played in Germany in the Bundesliga at F.C. Schweinfurt 05. Campellone was a two-year letter-winner at Cleveland State University. While at CSU, Adam was selected first-team All-Horizon League, All-American and All-Region. Campellone is a Cleveland native and a graduate of Walsh Jesuit where he was selected as the Ohio Player of the Year and earned All-American honors.
Guren, a 21-year old defender, will also make his MISL and Force debut this season. Adam was selected by Cleveland in the 2002 MISL Amateur Draft with its Territorial Pick out of Duke University. This past summer, Adam played for the Brooklyn Knights of the Premier Development League (PDL) and appeared in 10 games while recording two shots. While at Duke, Guren was a four-year letter-winner and a two-time All-Atlantic Coast Honor Roll selection. He recorded three goals and added five assists for a total of 11 points. Adam, a Cleveland native, is a graduate of Hawken School. While at Hawken, Guren was a four-year letter-winner and earned All-Conference, All-County and All-Ohio honors.
The Force will open the 2003-04 season on Sunday, October 19 when they travel to Dallas, Texas to take on the MISL Western Conference Dallas Sidekicks at 7:05 p.m. Catch all the action on WHK 1220 AM or WHKW 1440 AM in Warren. The game was originally scheduled to air on WKNR 850 AM but will be preempted for the Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series.
