CLEVELAND, OHIO- Cleveland Force President and General Manager Paul Garofolo today announced that the Force has signed forward Adauto Neto (Ah-Dot-Toe Net-Toe) to a contract. Per club policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

"Andy Schmetzer and I scouted Neto extensively this summer and felt that he would make an easy transition from the outdoor game to the indoor game. He is an extremely skillful player who we believe will play as a second forward or attacking midfielder. He has a great deal of experience playing FIFA's version of indoor soccer known as Futsal," stated Garofolo.

Neto, a 22-year old native of Itabuna, Brazil will make his Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) and Cleveland Force debut this season. Adauto recently finished his first season with the Syracuse Salty Dogs and former Cleveland midfielder and current Salty Dogs General Manager, Assistant Coach and player Tommy Tanner.

This season for Syracuse, Neto appeared in 22 games and recorded one goal and added two assists for a total of four points. Adauto also recorded 1,849 minutes of action and 37 shots.

Neto was drafted by the Dallas Burn of the Major League Soccer (MLS) in the fourth round of the 2002 MLS Superdraft. In addition to playing for Syracuse, he has played for the Des Moines Menace and the Jackson Chargers.

Adauto is a graduate of the University of Mobile. While at Mobile, Neto was named All-Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, Region XIII All-Regional and NAIA Division I All-American for three years (1999-2001).

Neto and his wife Leslie reside in Pensacola, Florida with their son Alessandro.
