
Force Set To Dethrone Defending Champs

CLEVELAND, OHIO -- The Cleveland Force will play a back-to-back weekend
series with the defending Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Champion and
Eastern Division Baltimore Blast on Saturday, February 21 at the 1st Mariner
Arena and then on Sunday, February 22 at the Convocation Center at Cleveland
State University. Saturday's game is scheduled to start at 7:35 p.m. while
Sunday's contest is slated for a 3:05 start. Both games can be heard live
on WHK 1220 AM in Cleveland and WHKW 1440 AM in Warren or live on the
Internet at www.thesportsking.com The Force comes into the weekend clash with a record of 8-16 overall, 0-7
versus Eastern Division opponents, 0-3 in the season series, 3-8 on the road
and 5-8 at the Convo. Cleveland defeated the Dallas Sidekicks by a final
score of 7-6 last Sunday at the Convo. The Force currently is in third place
in the Eastern Division eight games behind the Philadelphia KiXX for second
and nine games behind the Blast for first. Baltimore enters the weekend series with a record of 18-8 overall, 4-3
versus Eastern Division opponents, 11-2 at home and 7-6 on the road. The
Blast fell to the San Diego Sockers by a final score of 5-3 in their lone
game of the weekend on Saturday. Forwards Lee Edgerton and Adauto Neto lead Cleveland in the season series
with five points apiece. Edgerton has tallied three goals and added two
assists in all three games while Neto has recorded four goals and added one
assists in just two games. All-Star forward Hector Marinaro is second on
the team with three points in the season series. All-Star forward Carlos "Chile" Farias, who is first in the MISL in assists
and second in the MISL in scoring, leads Baltimore in the season series with
eight points. Farias has notched two goals and added six assists in the
three games. All-Star forward Denison Cabral is second on the team in the
season series with seven points.
