
Force set for championship Sunday

CLEVELAND, OHIO - The Cleveland Force will play its final home game during the month of January on Sunday, January 16 when the team plays the two-time defending Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Champion Baltimore Blast at the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University.
The action can be heard live on WHK 1420 AM or 1440 AM in Warren/Youngstown or live worldwide on the Internet at www.thesportsking.com. The game is scheduled to begin at 3:05 and U.S. Women's National Team defender and two-time gold medallist Joy Fawcett will be in attendance as a part of the Girl Scouts of America festivities.
Cleveland enters the contest with a record of 6-7 overall, 0-1 in the season series and 4-4 at home this season. The Force defeated the MISL leading St. Louis Steamers by a final score of 6-4 on Friday night. Cleveland dropped the first meeting of the season with the Blast by a final score of 11-7 at the Convo on December 4.
Baltimore comes into the game with a record of 8-9 overall, 2-5 on the road and on a two game-winning streak. The Blast defeated the Kansas City Comets by a final score of 11-6 last Friday and then handed the Milwaukee Wave a 4-3 loss on Saturday with both games being played at the 1st Mariner Arena.
Cleveland is led by forward Adauto Neto in the season series with three points on a goal and two assists. Forward Chris Dore and midfielder Myles Stoddard are tied for second with two points on two goals apiece in the first meeting.
Baltimore is lead by forward Carlos "Chile" Farias in the series with five points on three goals and two assists. Farias along with forward Giuliano Celenza each recorded a hat trick in the game, which marked the first two hat tricks of the season for the Blast. Forwards David Bascome, Marcos Chantel and Celenza are all tied for second in the series with three points. Bascome notched one goal and two assists while Chantel had two goals and an assist.
