
Force Rides Wave to Victory

Cleveland Force News Release
The Cleveland Force traveled to the Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the second time this season and defeated the Milwaukee Wave by a final score of 14-13 this afternoon at the Bradley Center.
With the win, Cleveland improved to 8-5 overall and 5-1 versus Western Conference opponents. With the loss, the Wave fell to 11-3 overall and 1-1 in the season series.
The Force opened the scoring (2-0) when Kiley Couch scored a two-point goal off the feed from Chris Stathopoulos at 5:43 of the first quarter. Cleveland added to its lead (4-0) when Giuliano Oliviero found the back of the net off the assist from Couch at 6:25. The Force continued the offensive attack (6-0) when Steve Butcher scored a two-point goal off the pass from Oliviero at 11:39. Milwaukee ended a 6-0 run by Cleveland (6-3) when Joe Reiniger scored a three-point goal of the assist from Marcela Fontana.
The Force opened the second quarter scoring (8-3) when Butcher stole the back pass and scored the unassisted goal at 2:31. The Wave cut into the lead when (8-5) when Troy Dusosky scored a power play goal off the pass from Reiniger at 8:02. Cleveland added to its lead (10-5) when Oliviero scored his second goal of the game as he passed the ball of the boards and headed the ball into the back of the net at 10:00 of the second quarter. Milwaukee once again cut into the lead (10-7) when Todd Dusosky scored the unassisted goal at 11:41. The Wave ended the first half scoring and cut the lead to one point (10-9) when Troy Dusosky scored his second power play goal of the game off the pass from Reiniger at 14:35 of the first half.
The Force got the lone goal of the third quarter (12-9) when Stathopoulos scored a two-point goal off the assist from Lee Edgerton at 2:17.
Milwaukee cut the lead to one point (12-11) when Reiniger scored off the pass from Todd Dusosky with just 12 second off the clock in the final period. Cleveland sealed the game (14-11) when Stathopoulos had the game winning unassisted goal at 5:10. The Wave would score one more time but would not get any closer (14-13) when Greg Howes scored off the pass from Pat White at 11:43.
Cleveland will next travel to Dallas, Texas to face the Dallas Sidekicks in a MISL game on Sunday, December 15th at the Reunion Arena.
