CLEVELAND, OHIO - Cleveland Force President and General Manager Paul Garofolo today announced the team has released forward Eduardo Hurtado (Ed-War-Doe Her-Tot-Doe).

"We thank Eduardo for his time with the team. Unfortunately his development as an indoor player was more difficult than we had anticipated. We believe that we will be able to sign a proven indoor player in the near future that will significantly bolster our lineup," stated Garofolo.

Hurtado, a 35-year old native of Ecuador, signed a one-year contract on December 1 and appeared in just one game for Cleveland. Prior to joining the Force, Eduardo had a five-year standout career in Major League Soccer (MLS) playing for the Los Angeles Galaxy, New York Metrostars and New England Revolution.

In other news, defender/midfielder Brian Soell has been activated off the injured reserve list and will return to train with the team this week. Soell, who was placed on the injured list on December 1 with a back injury, sought a second opinion about his injury and had an MRI performed by Dr. Rick Wright, the St. Louis Blues team doctor. The results of the MRI were negative.
