Force players to continue seasons in outdoor leagues

CLEVELAND, OHIO- Nine current members of the Cleveland Force and four 2004 draft picks will continue their soccer season this summer as they will play in the A-League and USL Pro Select League.

The Force will have eight current players and three draft picks playing in the A-League this summer and nine of the 11 players will be playing in the Eastern Division.

Forward Joel Bailey and defender Nevio Pizzolitto will remain as teammates when they both will play for the Montreal Impact of the A-League. Bailey will make his first appearance in the A-League and with the Impact while Pizzolitto will beginning his 10th season in the A-League and ninth with Montreal.

Forward Chris Dore, defender Ryan Hall and first round draft pick Tim O'Neill will all play for the Syracuse Salty Dogs in the A-League. Dore will be joining the Salty Dogs for the first time but also has played for the Charleston Battery and Cincinnati Riverhawks. Hall will be returning to Syracuse for the second season while O'Neill is making his A-League debut.

Force MVP Justin Evans will return to the Charleston Battery this season after playing for his hometown Pittsburgh Riverhounds last summer. Evans led the Battery in minutes played in 2002 while scoring four goals and adding two assists. Last summer, Evans appeared in 25 games for Pittsburgh and recorded two goals and added two assists.

Goalkeeper Jim Larkin and draft pick Neil Krause will play for the Milwaukee Wave United. Larkin returns to Wave United for the second straight season and is the only MISL player on the roster that does not play for the Milwaukee Wave. Krause, a fourth round draft pick, will make his A-League debut.

Force Rookie of the Year Adauto Neto will stay in the State of New York this summer playing for the Rochester Rhinos after spending last season with the Salty Dogs. Neto will join first round draft pick Ian Pilarski and former Cleveland players Bill Sedgewick on the Rhinos roster. Neto appeared in 22 games for Syracuse and tallied one goal and added two assists while Pilarski, who was selected by the Chicago Fire in the MLS Superdraft, will make his A-League debut.

Defender Fred DeGand will head to the Atlanta Silverbacks and begin his fourth season of A-League action. DeGand appeared in 17 games for the Battery last summer. Fred has also played for the Riverhawks, the Hampton Road Mariners and the Hershey Wildcats.

Forward Everson Maciel and second round selection Said Ali will both play in the USL Pro Select league this summer. Maciel will make his USL Pro Select debut when he joins the Western Mass Pioneers while Ali will continue his soccer career for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds after graduating from Robert Morris College.
