Cleveland Force News Release
CLEVELAND, OHIO- The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced today that two members of the Cleveland Force have been recognized on the MISL All-Rookie team. Forward Adauto Neto and defender and Cleveland native Adam Guren were selected to the All-Rookie squad by a panel of team-level executives and media members from around the MISL.
Neto and Guren are joined on the MISL All-Rookie team by forwards Jamar Beasley (Kansas City Comets) and Shaun David (Dallas Sidekicks), defender Jeremy Aldrich (Philadelphia KiXX) and goalkeeper Sanaldo (Kansas City Comets).
Neto was one of three forwards selected to the All-Rookie team. Despite missing 11 games due to injury, the 23-year old native of Itabuna, Brazil finished the season with 22 goals and nine assists. Neto finished with three game-winning goals, two restart goals and seven block shots. Adauto recorded 10 games with two or more points, including two games with three points and one with four. Neto had two-hat tricks on the season to the lead Cleveland. Adauto did not take long to show the great things that were to come from him this season when he tallied a goal and two assists in his very first MISL game. Adauto was selected as the Force Rookie of the Year, Cleveland Player of the Month on two occasions and the Force Player of the Game on four occasions.
Guren was one of two defenders selected to the All-Rookie team. Adam, the Force 2002 Territorial Selection out of Duke University, was just one of three Cleveland players to appear in all 36 games. Guren, a native of the Cleveland area, recorded three assists and 24 blocks in his rookie campaign. Adam's strong defensive play earned him a spot on the Force penalty-killing unit.
