
Force looks to crash Wave on Milwaukee

CLEVELAND, OHIO âThe Cleveland Force will next travel to the Badger State for one of its last two regular season road games when the team will take on the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) first-place Milwaukee Wave on Sunday, April 17th at the U.S. Cellular Arena.
The game can be heard live on WHK 1420 AM or WHKW 1440 AM in Warren/Youngstown or live worldwide on the Internet at www.thesportsking.com. And is scheduled to start at 2:05 pm.
Cleveland enters the game with a record of 20-16 overall, 11-8 at home and 9-8 on the road. The Force secures its third straight playoff appearance by defeating the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Chicago Storm by a final score of 7-2 on Friday night at the Wolstein Convocation Center. Cleveland secured its 20th post season appearance in 26-years of the franchise while winning its 20th game for the first time since the 1999-2000 when the Crunch went 27-17. The Force moved to within a half game of the second place Philadelphia KiXX in the MISL standings
Milwaukee, who plays the St. Louis Steamers tonight on the road, enters the game with a record of 22-13 overall, 13-5 at home and 9-8 on the road. The Wave split a home and home series with the second place Philadelphia KiXX last weekend by falling at home on Friday night but then defeated the KIXX at the Wachovia Spectrum both games were decided by a 6-3 count.
The game between Cleveland and Milwaukee will mark the fourth of five meetings this season between the two squads, including final regular season match at U.S. Cellular Arena and the second of three April games. Milwaukee won the last meeting on April 2 to take a 2-1 advantage in the season series. The Wave won the first meeting and third meetings while the Force posted its lone victory on January 22.
In the season series, the Force is led by midfielder Robbie Aristodemo and forward Antonio Sutton with three points apiece. Aristodemo has accounted for three goals, including the game winner on January 22 and a two-goal performance in the first game. Sutton has tallied two goals and one assist. Midfielder Gary DePalma and forward Chris Handsor are tied for second with two points each. The Wave are led by the MISL leading scorer forward Greg Howes in the season series with seven points on four goals and three assists, including a two-goal and one assist performance in the last game. Midfielder Marcelo Fontana is second with four points coming on three goals and one assist. Forward Giuliano Oliviero (2-G), forward Todd Dusosky (G, A), defender Lovelace Ackah (2-G) and goalkeeper Nick Vorberg (2-A) are tied for third with two points.
