Cleveland Force News Release

CLEVELAND, OHIO - Force 2004 draft pick and Pittsburgh Riverhounds forward Said Ali has yet to play a game for Cleveland, but his performance with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds has the Force front office smiling.

The Riverhounds of the USL Pro Soccer League are atop of the Atlantic Division and extended their division lead after Saturday's 6-2 stomping of the Westchester Flames. Pittsburgh is now 11-2-1 and have the best record in their league, a record that is in large part due to the play of Ali.

In the contest against the Flames, Ali managed to get more goals than the entire Westchester team could. Ali scored three goals in 75 minutes of play for the Riverhounds to record his first-hat trick of the season and propel Pittsburgh to the win. Two of Said's three goals came in a flurry, as they were only seven minutes apart.

The three goals on Saturday have put Said among the leaders in statistics in the USL Pro Soccer League. His eight goals and 18 points in 13 games played have him ranked seventh in both points and goals.

Ali and Force forward Everson Maciel will continue their spectacular season with the Riverhounds on Friday, July 16, when they match up against the Western Mass Pioneers.
