Greenville Force News Release

GREENVILLE, SC (January 13, 2010) - Greenville's pro indoor football team is preparing for its second season and it's bringing a new look and attitude as it ventures into its first with the Southern Indoor Football League.

After playing the 2009 season as the South Carolina Force, the franchise found it befitting to relish the community that served as the home for the club in its inaugural season and become known as the Greenville Force. With the Bi-Lo Center serving as their home venue, the Force look to build off a 7-7 campaign that saw them fall one win shy of making the playoffs.

Under new ownership and management, the Force's football season will officially begin this Saturday January 16, 2010, as the club holds their first tryout camp. Held from 9 am - 12 pm at Pittman Park, those attending the tryout will be evaluated in the 40-yard dash, 20-yard short shuttle, and a variety of team and individual drills by position.

"These particular drills simply prove as qualifiers for some guys who are truly athletic enough to compete in this league while running individual drills really show if they can be dominant and apply what we need on the field," says Force President Tony Wells.

"We are truly excited to get this new season underway with a sense of a fresh start," continues Wells. "We are only as good as our staff and we now lots of talented people surrounding our front office as look forward to gaining some great fan support from the community."
