For Hartford City FC Announces Home Schedule at XL Center

HARTFORD (September 17, 2015) - Hartford City FC and league officials have released the 2015-2016 Major Arena Soccer League competition schedule. HCFC will begin their inaugural campaign with a home match at the XL Center against the Chicago Mustangs on Sunday, November 8.
The MASL regular season consists of 20 games for each club, 10 home and 10 away, with teams split into four divisions across two conferences. Hartford City FC will compete in the Eastern Division within the Eastern Conference along with Baltimore, Detroit, Harrisburg and Syracuse. The top three teams in each division advance to a postseason play-off tournament to determine the MASL league championship.
Other schedule notes:
- Home for the Holidays: Hartford City secured 3 p.m. start times for home fixtures on Dec. 26 (Baltimore) and Dec. 31 (Syracuse). The New Year's Eve match will feature a partnership with the city's "First Night" celebration at the XL Center.
- Familiar Foes: Fifteen of Hartford's 20 matches will be against Eastern Division competition: four against Baltimore (Dec. 26, Jan. 9, Jan. 31, Feb. 21); three against Detroit (Nov. 19, Jan. 7, Feb. 21); four against Harrisburg (Nov. 18, Dec. 13, Jan. 2, Feb. 11); and four against Syracuse (Nov. 28, Dec. 18, Dec. 31, March 4).
- Road Warriors: Twice during the 2015-16 season, Hartford City FC will play a pair of road matches within 24 hours. Away matches against St. Louis and fellow MASL newcomers Cedar Rapids will be played Jan. 15 and 16. In February, games will be played against Milwaukee and division foe Detroit on the 27th and 28th.
- 34 years in the Making: Hartford City FC's home opener Nov. 8 will mark the first time professional indoor soccer is played in the XL Center since the Hartford Hellions of the MISL played their last home match in the Civic Center on Feb. 24, 1981.
- A December to Remember: The team will play the entire month of December at home in the XL Center against divisional opponents: Harrisburg (Dec. 13), Syracuse (Dec. 18), Baltimore (Dec. 26), and Syracuse again (Dec. 31).
