Brevard County Manatees News Release
Manatees fans, a few of our staff members are heading south to Miami for the Minnesota Vikings-Miami Dolphins football game this Sunday. There are some extra tickets available for those that wish to attend.
Manatees fan Mike Sunde, actually a close relative of former Vikings 1960s-70s Offensive Lineman Milt Sunde, has a pair of tickets available...he is unable to attend this Sunday's game. Mike can be reached at (321) 723-1520. Also, Manatees staff member Kyle Smith has a couple seats available as well...apparently some of Kyle's family and friends have obtained field passes and sitting with the rest of the group isn't part of their Sunday plans, so call Kyle at (321) 633-9200 x3007 if you're interested in attending the game. Tickets are available at cost (scalping is a crime and you will be sentenced to a life of misery with the guy that dreamt up the Permanente Seat License).
Staff update: the Manatees will have John Tamargo return as Field Manager this season. JT was the Manatees Manager in 2005. Last season he skippered the AAA Durham Bulls (Tampa Devil Rays). Ramon Aviles, the Manatees Manager of 2006, is taking a year off from baseball for personal reasons. We'll announce the rest of the staff when it becomes assembled in 2007. Welcome back, JT.
The week after Thanksgiving the Manatees will begin a weekly Item of the Week Holiday Sale. If you have baseball fans on your shopping list, don't jump the gun the day after Thanksgiving because not only is getting up at 4:00 am to be in line at the mall by 5:00 am simply ridiculous (unless you're waiting for Super Bowl or World Series Tickets), you won't find any better deals on Manatees merchandise in any store in Brevard County. The inaugural After-Thanksgiving-You-Won't-Believe-It's-Not-Butter-Four-Out-Of-Five-Dentists-Surveyed-Recommend-It-FANtastic-Item-Of-The-Week Merchandise Sale at Space Coast Stadium.
Pass the Mountain Dew, please. I think I'm beginning to slow down.
Ladies, Kylee Hanish is doing some homework on having a Ladies one-day baseball camp this season. If you'd be interested in attending this camp, please email Kylee at khanish@spacecoaststadium.com with your suggestions. Currently we're looking at starting in the morning and going thru fundamentals with the Manatees players and coaches. Then later that day camp would break for the ladies to go home, relax and gather up their loved ones to come back for a ladies only baseball game followed by the Manatees normally scheduled game. If this is something that you think you'd groove on, fire that email off to Kylee. We have not selected a date for this event yet, but are considering a couple options. Your feedback is critical to the success of this camp. One of the things we're looking at is tying this into a Daytona Cubs series and have the Cubs ladies playing the Manatees ladies and make this an annual event....traveling trophy, etc.
On that note...rumor-tism has it that Ryne Sandberg may be the Daytona Cubs Manager this season. Betcha JT's ladies will beat Ryno's ladies in a baseball game.
