St. John's Fog Devils News Release
The Fog Devils are coming off of a disappointing road trip that saw them drop four straight games in Northern Quebec. After two losses to the Val d'Or Foreurs and two to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, the team's record currently sits at 10-13-1-3.
Forward Jean-Simon Allard has been selected as a member of the QMJHL All-Star Team, which will take on the Russian Selects in two nationally televised games this week. The games will take place November 19 at 1am NL time, and November 21 at 8:30 NL time.
The NHL Central Scouting Bureau recently released it's quarter-season ranking of QMJHL players for the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, and there were two Fog Devils listed. St. John's native Luke Adam was ranked 20th out of Q skaters, while goalie Jake Allen was ranked 7th out of Q goalies. Look for both players to continue to climb the rankings as the season progresses.
Jean-Simon Allard leads the team in scoring with 27 points (6G, 21A) in 24 games and is 12th in QMJHL scoring. Wes Welcher is second on the team with 24 points (7G, 17A) in 23 games.
Luke Adam and Ryan Graham are tied for the team lead with 13 goals each, tied for 9th in the QMJHL. Mario Kempe is second on the team with 12 goals.
In the community:
