Fog Devils release 2006-07 schedule

St. John's Fog Devils News Release
The St. John's Fog Devils have officially released the team's schedule for the 2006-2007 QMJHL season.
The Fog Devils will start their 2nd season at home when they face their fellow islanders, the PEI Rocket on Friday, September 15th at Mile One Stadium. The club's first road game will take place on September 22nd when they travel to Rimouski to take on the Oceanic.
The Fog Devils will again play in the East Division this season, with the Acadie-Bathurst Titans, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, Halifax Mooseheads, Lewiston MAINEiacs, Moncton Wildcats, PEI Rocket and Saint John Sea Dogs.
As with last season, only one team in each division will not qualify for the playoffs. Since there are 8 teams in the East Division and 10 in the West Division, the 9th placed team in the West Division will be transplanted into the East Division for the playoffs. Its regular season points total will determine where this club will be seeded. The Best-of-7 series format will take place between teams within the division until the semifinals. Once there, based on regular season point totals, the highest seed in the East Division will take on the lowest seeded team in the West division, and vice-versa.
This year's schedule will see the Fog Devils face all QMJHL clubs, and the five teams that did not make a trip to Mile One last season will do so this year. The club will play 50 of its 70 games against the East Division that includes 8 games each against the Screaming Eagles, the Mooseheads, the MAINEiacs and the Rocket and 6 games each against the Titans, the Wildcats and the Sea Dogs.
October (8 home, 4 away) and January (5 home, 7 away) will be the most active months, seeing the Fog Devils play 12 games each month. The home schedule will see 18 games played before Christmas and 17 games played after the holiday season. 24 of the team's 35 home games will be on weekend dates, with 11 games on Friday, 10 on Saturday and 3 Sunday afternoon contest. Starting times for all games is 7:00pm with the exception of Sunday games, beginning at 4:00pm.
